IELTS stands for International English Language Testing System which aims to test the four basics of English that are Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking required in every country for settlement. They use different bands that are from band score 1 (beginner) to band score 9 (expert) to identify the proficiency of student. Description of 9 Bands Score Card For IELTS:
0 band means user did not attempt the test
1 band means the test taker doesn’t have the ability to use the language except for very few words and needs to work harder.
2 bands mean intermittent user, having great difficulty in understanding spoken and written English.
3 bands- means the user is extremely limited in using words.
4 bands- means limited user and is restricted in the language.
5 bands- Modest users have a command and could cope with meanings but are likely to make many mistakes and are able to handle basic communication skills.
6 bands: Test taker is competent and has an effective command on language with some inaccuracies and misunderstandings.
7 bands- It dedicates to good command holder on English with very few occasional inaccuracies.
8 bands- Test taker has very good command over English language and its usage in daily life as well as in professional life.

2 Types of IELTS Exam:
- IELTS Academic: This test is preferably given by those who want to go for higher learning or academic purposes. Regardless of subject focus; the tasks and tests are accessible to test takers.
- Listening: 30 minutes+10 minutes extra, four recorded monologues and conversations.
- Reading: 60 minutes, three long reading passages along with tasks, descriptive, analytical and factual questions, Non-verbal materials like graphs, authentic texts may take from newspaper, books and journals.
- Writing: 60 minutes, writing task of minimum 150 words, short essay task of at least 250 words.
- Speaking Section: 11 to 14 minutes, interview round, short questions about a familiar topic just to check the speaking skills of the student.

- Listening and Speaking sections are same in both the tests.
