What is IELTS test and how to crack IELTS Listening section?

IELTS stands for International English Language Testing System, here are some tips to crack the IELTS Listening section. We have an ielts training center in Gurgaon to help you thoroughly.

  1. You can write in the capital letters or maybe lower case as per the choice; they are easy to read and detect to avoid mistakes.
  2. Read all the instructions and questions carefully as they are the only ones going to tell you what you have to do like if there’s written write no more than one word or a number for each person then you have to follow this before writing the answer.
  3. There are some terms that we use on a daily basis and using them in the IELTS exam is a better idea indeed, join our IELTS training institute in Gurgaon for more tips.
  4. There are 40 questions and 4 sections in which 2 speakers will be there and it would be a telephonic conversation.
  5. As time passes, the sections will get tougher that simply means section 4 is difficult than 1.

  6. The listening section will be of 40 minutes like 30 to listen to the test and another 10 to transfer answers to the answer sheet.
  7. Being an International test there will be a range of accents but the main will be British and Australian. It accepts either American English or British English.
  8. The recording will be played only once that you will not hear for the second time so listen very carefully.
  9. When listening, you need to write down your answers on the test paper and then transfer on the answer sheet.
  10. Be a multi-tasker means read as well as listen for the answer.
  11. If you miss an answer, just move on to the next question. Don’t waste time. Don’t lose your place in the recording. 30 minutes is a long time to actively listen for answers.
  12. Don’t just try to understand everything. IELTS will add lots of extra information but you only need to listen for answers. Keep yourself focused on listening for answers to questions.
  13. You must practice completing a full listening test by listening only once before your test. You should do this a number of times.
  14. While you are listening, write your answers on the question paper. Use a pencil.
  15. When you have completed all four parts of the Listening test you will have ten minutes to copy your answers on to a separate answer sheet.
